  Groggo's Winter Lager - 1st Batch

Ingredients for Groggo’s Winter Lager

1 can of Coopers Lager
300g cracked Crystal Grain
900g Golden Syrup
250g Dark Raw Sugar
12g Pride of Ringwood Hops
Morgans Lager Yeast


5 liters of water

Process

Boil the water and get temp to 63 Celsius
Place beer kit contents , Golden Syrup, Raw sugar into the boiling water
Agitate until all dissolved into water
Place Cracked Crystal Grain into a Mesh Bag with pride of ringwood hops and put into the water .
Keep temp at 63 Celsius for 60 minutes

Place contents into a Sterilized Fermenter fill to 20 liters and agitate brew with Sterilized Spoon
Measure Your Gravity and record
Then add The Morgans Lager Yeast agitate again to mix yeast into the brew close Fermenter and add Sterilized
Air Lock

Then Place Fermenter in the Garage away from any sunlight . Let the yeast do its magic

OG : 1.043
FG : 1.010

ABV : 4.33 % + 0.5% SF = 4.83 %

Stock Take

1 x 8lt keg primmed with 58g brown sugar
1 x 4lt mini keg @ 4.33% alcohol refrigerated with co2 psi 12% @ 4c
1 x 1.25lt Pet bottle
1 x 750ml Clear Glass Bottle
4 x 650ml Glass Brown Bottles
9 x 330ml Clear Glass Stubbies

total production = 19570ml. = 19.6lt

the Brew aroma was on point with what I was after using the Golden syrup gave it a great golden amber color .
Taste wise at end of primary fermentation was spot on for what I was after .

Ok after 1 week using 5lt aluminium keg and forced carbonation
This is a good result . A bitter style lager nice flavour

Not bad it’s home brew but tastes great from the keg
